Tropical Christmas Semi Formal

What happens when you mix palm trees, snow, LED lights, and 350 high school students? You get the 2011 CBA Semi Formal.  In our six years of doing events at Christian Brothers Academy in Syracuse, NY we have never had such an amazing dance. This event was non stop energy right from the start. We brought out our largest light show that included simulated water behind the DJ booth with a bright green projection of a palm tree to tie in the tropical theme. Also, 14 uplights set to aqua blue accented the walls and decorations.

The feature that really made the night was the new LED towers with moving head lights. We brought along our lighting designer Matt to run a custom live light show that included Christmas colors, tropical suns, and strobes. Having a dedicated lig

ht designer for the dance really makes a difference in the quality of light show we can provide.

If that wasn’t enough we launched over 350 glow sticks into the crowd to pump them up during a dub step and techno set. Plus we played all the Christmas favorites including a club remix of Mariah Carey’s All I Want For Christmas Is You. One of the highlights of the night was when we played MC Hammer’s Can’t Touch This and the vice principal started dancing on the stage. He had the entire crowd cheering. We can’t wait to come back for the Junior Prom and Senior Ball in 2012!
